Internet services including 2G/3G/4G blocked in south Kashmir

Two militants were killed in a brief gunfight with government forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district late Wednesday night.


A police officer told news agency GNS that army’s 9 RR and SOG had laid an ambush at Gopalpora village in DH Pora following a tip off about the movement of some militants in the area.

“As the militants entered the ambushed area, they were challenged after which a fierce gun battle took place between the forces and the militants in which two militants have been killed”, the officer said.

He said that both the bodies have been recovered along with as many AK 47 and their identity are being ascertained.

Meanwhile, in wake of the gunfight, authorities have blocked internet services including 2G/3G/4G in south Kashmir.
